The second annual Women Installers Together Conference is gearing up to be the biggest gathering of female installers and gas engineers than ever before.

Event organisers Stopcocks Women Plumbers and partners Polypipe are delighted at the response from both industry and installers.

Stopcocks founder, Hattie Hasan, said: “I wouldn’t have believed we could start from nowhere and manage to get so much positive engagement, it’s a very proud moment.”

This year’s event in central London at The Building Centre has the honour of hosting many first-time event sponsors as well as returners from last year.

Event organiser, Mica May from Stopcocks, said: “To get this level of fantastic support from new and returning sponsors shows there’s a willingness in the industry to facilitate change.”

As the event day approaches last minute preparations are well under way. This is an event like no other geared at addressing isolation; one of the biggest issues faced by female plumbers and gas engineers.

Hattie said: “For the first time we are bringing together as many trainees as we can, and introducing them to potential employers and showing that there is a huge interest in taking on the challenge to make this wonderful industry as attractive to women as we can.

“There are many ways women can find a place in plumbing and gas engineering, and the WIT conference aims to celebrate not only what has been done, but also what can be done in the future.”

The sponsors are headline sponsor, Graham The Plumber’s Merchant, as well as Kier Group, Redrow Homes, Fernox, Impey Showers, Vaillant UK, Calor, Monument Tools, and Base PPE with Brian Hyde Ltd.
