Asa Finnigan, area director for Kent and East Anglia at Graham Plumbers’ Merchant, has raised over £3,500 for Graham’s Together charity partner Barnardo’s, after completing the 2019 London Marathon.
Asa exceeded his original target by £1,500. In branch customer events such as raffles were held during Christmas and Easter to spread awareness of the race and to help raise funds.
He said: “Crossing the finish line just felt brilliant, but also quite overwhelming. I was so proud of how far I had come and how much I had raised for the charity. I have completely smashed my target, and I’m pleased to say that the funds will support some incredible and life-changing projects for young people across the UK.
“I was so motivated by the amount of support and encouragement I received from my colleagues at Graham throughout the whole process. On the day of the actual event, many of my Graham colleagues tracked my progress online whilst others came to watch me complete the race. I’m now having a rest but am looking forward to running the marathon again next year.”
