Croydex is counting down to October’s Tough Sh!t challenge, which sees its eleven-strong team of runners tackle a 10k toilet-themed obstacle course to fundraise for WaterAid.
Employees from the Andover-based bathroom accessories specialist hope to raise £2,500, which will go towards installing toilets in communities currently without this basic facility.
Retail commercial manager, Dominick McHarg, who is taking part in this challenge, said: “It’s a shocking fact that 2.5 billion people worldwide don’t have access to a decent toilet.
“Many have no choice but to go in the open, which can be embarrassing and also spread diseases. We believe we have a wider responsibility to help communities across the world suffering from a lack of water and sanitation. That is why we are supporting WaterAid and we hope our fundraising efforts will make a profound difference to the lives of people who are otherwise deprived of something as simple as safe toilet facilities.”
Tough Sh!t features 20 toilet-themed obstacles, including the Toilet Toil, the Floaters and the Porta Slide. The challenge takes place on the October 15 in Surrey.
