Leo Varadkar opens new Grant facility

Grant Engineering in Birr, Co Offaly, has welcomed the Irish Prime Minister to officially open new facilities including an R&D Innovation Centre, dedicated customer services centre and Training Academy.

Irish Prime Minster Leo Varadkar, pictured, was invited to open the new building and address guests.

The official launch event marked the culmination of a €14 million investment project which has taken place over the past four years at Grant Engineering’s manufacturing premises in Birr.

Since the company was established in 1978, Grant Engineering has always been based at the same site which has, over the years, undergone several expansions. This latest development programme is the largest that Grant Engineering has undertaken with an additional 10,000 square foot of manufacturing, design and training facilities being added to the existing site.

Visitors to the HQ of Grant Engineering are now welcomed by a new state of the art building which is fronted by an extensive showroom.

Alongside the R&D centre, a new customer services centre is located within these premises which will be on hand to provide dedicated product support for homeowners and heating engineers throughout Ireland.

The manufacturing plant has also invested heavily in new robotics and automation equipment which has been installed to help meet increasing demand, Grant added.
