Ideal Heating has invited representatives from Macmillan Cancer Support to its headquarters to celebrate a new milestone of £325,000 raised for the charity.
The heating manufacturer has raised funds for Macmillan since 2018. It has supported the charity with its work to help people living with cancer and their families.
Ideal and its sister companies within Groupe Atlantic UK and Republic of Ireland have supported Macmillan through sponsored challenges, bake sales and other initiatives. On average, the company reported that more than £40,000 has been raised for Macmillan every year during the partnership.
Miriam Moore, HR director for Ideal Heating and Groupe Atlantic UK and Republic of Ireland, said: “Through our ongoing partnership with Macmillan, we’re very proud to be making a difference to the lives of so many people affected by cancer.
“We’re delighted to have reached the £325,000 milestone, but we’re not stopping there. Our colleagues continue to find new and more creative ways of raising money, which reflects the community spirit and ethos we have embedded within our business.”
Every month, Ideal employees contribute £1 to wear casual clothes on a Friday. The “dress down Friday” initiative raises around £900 each month, donated to both Macmillan and other charities.
Colleagues have also donated to Macmillan through Ideal’s staff boiler purchase scheme. Team members can buy company products at a reduced price, with the difference donated to the charity.
Ideal takes part in Macmillan’s annual Coffee Morning, which is set to happen this year on Friday 25 September. Colleagues bake cakes and sweet treats to raise funds.
