HPM April issue lands at time of crisis

As the UK lockdown period continues and more people face spending more enforced time at home, this month’s print version of HPM has landed on doorsteps with all the latest information for installers.

The April edition brings you the latest mix of news, in-depth articles, comment pieces, training and technical features – plus new product information for the heating and plumbing sector.

HPM also sends out a message of support to readers at this difficult time during the coronavirus crisis. Together with our industry partners, HPM will continue to update coverage on the rapidly changing public health crisis, both in print and online. Having up-to-date information has never been important for your safety and all those around you.

On the news pages of this month’s issue, realities of the pandemic are hitting home for installers, merchants and suppliers alike, with emergency measures from to help those with lost income due to coronavirus crucial in the weeks and months ahead.

Meanwhile, the decarbonisation debate continues as Martyn Bridges of Worcester Bosch calls for political parties to set realistic targets. We also profile latest training available to installers of underfloor heating, through Polypipe, for when social distancing measures are eased.

In the Alternative Heat section, Firebird explains the benefits a wet underfloor heating system can offer and its compatibility with air source heat pumps. The Pipes, Valves & Fittings section includes the story of an installer-turned-inventor who recognised that existing sealed system filling loops have many drawbacks which create problems for both installers and many households.

Take part in our annual Easter competition on page 5 for the chance to win a range of prizes. And finally, follow the latest twists and turns of HPM’s cartoon heating business Ian Staller & Family on page 52.
