GF Building Flow Solutions’ Uponor I-Shower has received the German Innovation Award 2025 and the iF Design Award 2025 for its digital shower controller.
According to a company statement, the Uponor I-Shower provides shower comfort, while saving water and energy. The electrical shower mixer unit has been re-engineered into the Uponor Combi Port flat station so the I-Shower installation is limited to only one pipe per shower outlet. The combination has resulted in energy-saving and hygienic decentralised hot water supply with the shower comfort of electronic mixers, it cited.
The German Innovation Award jury described the Uponor I-Shower as “…a system that, through intelligent technology and intuitive operation, not only enables personalised shower profiles but also significantly reduces water and energy consumption. The combination of minimalist Scandinavian design and future-proof functionality distinguishes the product, making it a trend-setting solution that enhances both everyday comfort and ecological responsibility.”
Torsten Meier, chief innovation officer at GF Building Flow Solutions, said: “For the regulation of the shower experience, we developed a digital controller that combines timeless design with intuitive functionality. From concept to launch, the Uponor I-Shower reflects our commitment to pushing boundaries and creating solutions that not only look great but truly make a difference.
“Winning the iF Design Award and receiving recognition from the German Design Council validates our innovation strategy and honours the visionary ideas, intelligent solutions and meaningful impact behind our work. We’re proud to be part of a movement dedicated to sustainably improving life through progress.”
