Installers can now access fully funded Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) training at Renewables Centre. This is possible due to the government’s recent extension of the Heat Training Grant.
Renewables Centre, a Wolseley business, has partnered with NAPIT to offer accredited training courses at locations across the UK. The centre was officially launched in April.
Andrew Busst, training lead at Renewables Centre, said: “The extension of the Heat Training Grant is a vital move at a crucial time. It sends a clear message: the transition to low-carbon heating is accelerating, and skilled installers are central to making it happen.
“At Renewables Centre, we’ve removed as many barriers as possible to help heating professionals take that next step into renewables. Thanks to the government grant, we’re now offering free access to our accredited Air Source Heat Pump training course. It’s simple, straightforward and designed to get more installers trained faster – without the admin or cost.
“Demand for air source heat pumps has grown nearly 90% year-on-year, and renewables are set to jump from just 5% to over 27% of installer workload in the next five years. A statement said that Renewables Centre was launched to provide a fully integrated pathway for heating professionals looking to enter the renewables market. It combines accredited training, MCS-certified design services, technical support and supply.
This week the Renewables Centre opened its doors in Shrewsbury, with more centres to follow throughout the UK.
