APHC invites educators to join apprenticeship review event

The Association of Plumbing and Heating (APHC) is inviting those involved in plumbing and heating education to take part in an online webinar regarding the review of The Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Apprenticeship.

This process will help to improve the quality of the apprenticeship standards to make sure they meet the needs of both employers and apprentices when it comes to defining the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for occupational standards.

Graeme Dryden, deputy chief executive officer at APHC, said: “To ensure that those at all levels across education are equally represented in this review, we are looking for enthusiastic trainers, lecturers and assessors in the plumbing arena in England to come together to share their experience and direction.”

The seminar will focus on the following key areas:

  • Review of the Occupational Profile against new criteria
  • Review of the Assessment Plan against new criteria
  • Review of the current pathways including the need for a new commercial, or more specialist plumbing pathway
  • Technology updates
  • Funding review.

The webinar will be taking place on Friday, 30 April at 2.30pm – 3.00pm, and include open discussion, interactive polls, and time for breakout sessions and smaller discussion groups.
