There’s still time for employers looking to engage an apprentice in the electrical or and sectors to be entered into the prize draw to win a silver Citroen Berlingo 1.6 HDi van as part of provider JTL’s 25th anniversary celebrations. To qualify, employers must sign up to their apprentice by July 31, 2015.

It’s a quarter of a century since the Electrical Contractors Association and what is today Unite the Union came together to form JTL, and this 25-year anniversary is being marked by a range of initiatives – including the chance for an employer to win the van.

JTL is keen to raise both the status of those working in building services engineering, and the appeal of a career in the heating and plumbing and electrical industries. It targets money and effort to ensure that more young across a range of academic abilities, see the merit of an apprenticeship in electrical installation and maintenance and heating, ventilating and plumbing. This includes working with careers advisors, and providing meaningful information to parents – illustrating the success stories of young who have achieved great things through their apprenticeships.

JTL continues to grow and has opened new training centres in the past 18 months, including the JTL National Centre of Excellence in Birmingham and more recently a new centre that can train up to 100 learners in Norwich.

JTL chairman, Ian Livsey, said: “I believe the company can look back on a very proud record of reliable achievement. JTL is a true service provider. Both its on-going existence and extremely bright future are worthy of celebration by all those who care deeply about the professionalism that good current and future electricians and heating engineers and plumbers apply on a daily basis.”

Every employer engaging a JTL apprentice in the period August 1, 2014 – July 31, 2015 will receive a 25th anniversary entry ticket for a celebration prize draw.

Only one entry ticket per company is being provided so the competition cannot be dominated by larger businesses who take on more than one apprentice. The prize is a silver Citroen Berlingo 1.6 HDi.
