Smith Brothers Stores (SBS) has welcomed four new regional product specialists (RPS) to provide key product support to both its staff and customers, focusing on its exclusive brands Aquatechnik, Isotubi and Frabo.

Andrea Vignola, Andrew Martin, Clinton Thacker and Paul Berry will use their extensive industry knowledge and expertise to assist staff and customers.

Additionally, the newcomers will be working closely with each of the manufacturers and help to develop their products and all supporting documentation, literature and approvals to further enhance each brands reputation within the UK market, a statement said.

Once the COVID-19 travel and hospitality restrictions have eased, they will be able to schedule factory visits, where both customers and staff can learn more about the manufacturer and their production capabilities.

Andrea worked for Conex Banninger for the past three years as a regional technical sales manager for the London and South West area.

He commented: “I want to expand and grow the specification market for the SBS exclusive brands, by supporting internal and external personnel. My tactic is to improve the knowledge and sales experience, along with being supported by our vast portfolio of stock in the branches.”

Andrew worked for Viega as a technical sales manager for 18 months. Prior to that, he spent approximately eight years working for Geberit as a technical sales manager and then a regional sales manager.

Andrew said: “My plan at SBS is to make a success of my role, by helping to secure valuable sales opportunities and increasing the businesses market share.”

Clinton joins SBS from Pegler Yorkshire, where he honed his skills and experience over the past 16 years, most recently as commercial specification manager for the Central Region.

He said: “My plans are to build brand recognition, to secure project specification jobs and to help sell SBS exclusive brands.”

Paul joins from Geberit, where he held a specification sales manager role for 18 months having previously worked at Grahams Plumbers Merchant for nine years.

Paul said: “My plans at SBS are to create a presence in the country on our exclusive products. I want to fully assist the ASM’s in my region and make sure that we are getting our exclusive products specified on projects. My main target is to get all our installer customers aware and trained on the exclusive products and get them to use them.”
