Vattenfall CIO named as Smart Energy 2025’s opening speaker

Jens Zerbst, chief information officer at Vattenfall, has been announced as the opening speaker at this year’s Future of Utilities: Smart Energy, an energy digitalisation event.

The conference is set to take place on 1 and 2 December at Convene 133 Houndsditch in London. According to a statement, it is expected to bring together 900 industry leaders key topics in energy digitalisation, from the data and AI landscape, to flexibility, to grid modernisation.

Other speakers confirmed to join the lineup include: Matt Webb, chief information officer at UK Power Networks, Kine Årdall, chief information and digital officer at Scatec, James McLean, chief information officer at SSEN Transmission, Tone Thingbø, vice president cybersecurity at Statkraft, Philip Steele, future technologies evangelist at Octopus Energy, George Walters, chief home services officer at Utilita, Simon Evans, programme director – virtual energy systems at NESO, Katie Russell, data director at OVO Energy, Peter Stanley, chief executive officer at Elexon, and Christian Barba, director of energy storage for Europe and LatAm at EDP Renewables.
