Unitherm completes first heat pump training course

Newcomer to the UK air to water heat pump marketplace Unitherm Heating Systems has completed its first Logic Air Source Heat Pump course at a new training centre in Exeter.

“The first course went really well and we have bookings already for a number of courses in the next few months, so we’re really pleased with how things have taken off,” said Unitherm training manager Steve Rhodes. “There is a real desire to know more about heat pumps – in particular following the announcement made by the government that there will be a £5,000 grant available for people switching from a traditional boiler driven heating system to an air source heat pump from April 2022. There is a real understanding that the air source heat pump marketplace is about to take off in a big way in the UK and of course installers want to be ready to take advantage of this exciting new business opportunity.”

The centre offers a selection of courses for installers with immediate effect including manufacturer training courses and pre-requisite courses such as Unvented Hot Water.

Courses available at Unitherm include a four-day course on Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pumps – LCL Awards Level 3 Award (National Certification). There are pre-requisite qualifications required for entry to the Logic ASHP course and if these have lapsed or the candidate doesn’t hold them then he or she can renew these at Unitherm’s Training Centre – including Hot Water Systems and Safety (unvented hot water), Energy Efficiency and WRAS – water regulations certificate.
