Low-carbon heating takes centre stage at emex 2026

emex 2026

emex 2026 is set to take place at Excel London on 25 to 26 November to explore the technologies, strategies and practical solutions shaping the future of building performance, energy efficiency and low-carbon heating.

The event will feature over 100 speakers, over 100 exhibitors and eight conference theatres. There will also be a CPD-accredited programme covering energy efficiency, smart buildings, flexible energy systems, decarbonisation and the transition to lower-carbon technologies.

For Heating & Plumbing Monthly readers, one of the key sessions will be “Beyond the Headlines: Turning Heat Pump Potential into Reality”. This is due to take place on Thursday 26 November from 12:35 until 13:15.

The panel includes Bean Beanland, commercial, industrial and public sector heat pump consultant at the Heat Pump Association UK. It will look beyond the wider debate around heat pumps to examine what successful implementation really involves.

Drawing on practical experience and real-world examples, the session will explore the factors affecting performance, adoption and delivery. According to a statement, this will help delegates better understand how heat pumps can be integrated effectively across UK buildings.

Visitors can also hear from Tom Parsons, commercial director at Good Energy, whose experience includes the rollout of heat pump and solar installations for businesses and households. This comes alongside the development of renewable energy products supporting practical decarbonisation.

The wider programme will explore how building owners and operators can improve energy performance while managing costs, maintaining resilience and making investment decisions that deliver measurable results.

Alessandro Ciampechini, technical director for Built Environment Sustainability, Decarbonisation & Resilience at WSP, is expected to bring further insight from his work delivering energy efficiency and decarbonisation strategies across the built environment.

For professionals responsible for existing building stock, Neil Coleman, senior energy manager supporting the Landsec Lifestyle Portfolio at CBRE, brings almost 20 years of energy-sector experience. The statement added that he has delivered more than £30m of energy-efficiency projects, with a particular focus on engineering projects in existing buildings.

emex has also expanded its content for 2026, with features including the Solutions Showcase, Keynote Theatre and Estates Gazette Theatre, alongside the Power Responsive Theatre, Wates Innovation Theatre, BSI Training, Sustainability Talks and focused roundtable discussions.

Suki Gilliland, energy and sustainability manager at CBRE Global Workplace Solutions and a member of the emex Advisory Board, said: “EMEX isn’t just a showcase of technology, it’s a place where practical experience, real challenges and honest conversations come together.”

Attendance is free for all business professionals and includes access to the exhibition, CPD-accredited conference programme, roundtables and additional learning opportunities.
