Liberty and Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea agree £2.1m partnership

National property services business Liberty is working with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to provide gas safety in tenants’ homes.

Launched this month, the new partnership will see Liberty undertake maintenance and repairs on heating in thousands of tenant’s homes.

The contract, which has an initial three-year term, is worth £2.1m and was secured through the Fusion 21 framework.

Under the deal, Liberty, whose headquarters are in Knowsley, will work to a ten-month rolling programme of servicing. This means every one of the council’s 4,500 gas boiler homes will have a Landlord Gas Safety Record (LGSR) inspection every ten months.

The national company will also service pipework for a further 2,453 properties with alternative heating systems.

Ian Craig, pictured, Liberty’s regional director for the South East, said: “At Liberty, health and safety is our number one priority. We have retained or extended nine contracts in our heating and compliance division over the past year, demonstrating our position as a trusted and results-driven partner.

“We are proud to be working with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to increase gas safety in thousands of people’s homes. Our highly skilled engineers can be relied upon to safely and quickly fix any issues with boilers or other heating systems.

“It’s great news the contract will also create ten jobs for local people, plus two apprenticeships to support young people to kickstart their careers.

“Myself and the whole team are looking forward to getting started and building a strong partnership.”
