Tanya Vincent-Tomlinson and her family were announced as the winners of the Grand Designs and Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions competition and received a Panasonic Etherea air conditioning unit as their prize.

The unit was installed in October 2025 by ML Air Conditioning. The family said the installation changed their outdoor brick-built summer house into a flexible space that serves as both a home office and a gym, allowing it to be used comfortably all year round.

Tanya said: “The installation was seamless and much quicker than we expected, and the Panasonic unit’s performance exceeding our expectations. We can now use the space regardless of the season.”

The Grand Designs and Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions summer competition offered one winner the chance to upgrade their home with a Panasonic Etherea air conditioning unit. This included professional installation.

After being contacted by a local Panasonic-accredited installer, ML Air Conditioning, the family’s summer house was assessed for suitability. Previously, space was too hot in summer and too cold in winter.

Tanya added: “The new Panasonic air conditioning system has transformed the summer house space to one that we can now use all year round, due to the ability to both quickly heat or cool the space. We are very impressed with the unit so far and would highly recommend the Panasonic Etherea unit to anyone looking for fast and efficient heating and cooling.”

The unit is available in matt white, graphite grey or silver. The company stated that it has an A+++ efficiency rating, built-in Wi-Fi for smart control and Panasonic’s nanoe X technology.

Mick Langford, UK country manager for Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions, said: “We’re delighted to see our Etherea unit making a real difference for Tanya and her family.”
