FireAngel is supporting Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service (NFRS) Winter Warmth Pack initiative by donating carbon monoxide (CO) alarms to help protect vulnerable residents.
Between December and February, a total of 75 Winter Warmth Packs will be distributed across Northamptonshire. Each pack contains a pair of thermal socks, a fleece scarf, thermal gloves, thermal hat, torch and fleece blanket, as well as a FireAngel CO alarm.
The packs are distributed by NFRS community prevention teams during fire safety visits and targeted community engagement sessions. A statement said they are prioritised for individuals living in cold or hazardous home environments. This includes residents who are homeless, living rough over winter, unable to heat their homes due to fuel-poverty, or reliant on temporary and often unsafe heating appliances.
NFRS has reported a positive impact from previous years’ initiatives, with residents describing the support as lifesaving and essential during freezing conditions.
Tina Collett, prevention team leader at NFRS, said: “These Winter Warmth Packs make a huge difference to the wellbeing and safety of vulnerable residents during the colder months. We are incredibly grateful for FireAngel’s continued support and partnership in helping us protect those at the highest risk.”
The collaboration supports FireAngel’s mission to enhance community fire and CO safety through a close partnership with UK fire and rescue services. The company supplies prevention teams with certified alarms and provides vulnerable groups with accessible home-safety solutions.
Dan Tweddle, FireAngel national account manager, added: “Working together with fire and rescue services ensures we can make a meaningful difference to those who need support most, particularly during the coldest and most challenging months of the year.”
