MCS has released its February installation data which revealed that England has exceeded 1.4m all-time installations.
The data also revealed that Wales ended the month out on top for installation uptake, with 8.62% compared to Scotland’s 8.38%.
For Heat Pumps, there were 4,280 installations in February. MCS stated that this was the highest performing February for heat pumps in scheme history, and third best month ever for heat pumps.
Average monthly heat pump installations for 2024 is 4,110, a 26% increase on 2023 average, which was the best year ever for this technology.
Battery storage had its best month ever for installations, and the first to exceed 1,000 installations, with 1,248. This brings the scheme to date total for this technology to 7,410.
The data further revealed that there were 17,224 total installations in February, totaling 33,482 installations for the year so far. There has now been 1,761,133 total installations in scheme history.
In February there was 119 new MCS certified contractors, totaling 248 new MCS certified contractors in 2024. There is now 4,664 MCS certified contractors in total.
