Energy secretary encouraged to join the heat pump revolution

Responding to the news that energy secretary Grant Shapps does not have a heat pump operational at his home Lowe & Oliver, a national heat pump installer, has offered to provide one free of cost.

Fred Lowe, Lowe & Oliver director, said: “We’re fully supportive of the efforts from Grant Shapps and his team to expand heat pump availability across the country, but it was disappointing to read that he has yet to have a system installed in his own home.

“Extending the Boiler Upgrade Scheme is a positive step on the path to net zero. Grant should be leading the way and reporting back to the public on the benefits of living with a residential heat pump. He could even experience his scheme first-hand to iron out any bumps or creases in the process.

“Politicians setting an example is always welcomed by the public and we would be delighted to assist Grant in doing so. If he gives us a time, date and location – our team can be there to get his own personal heat pump journey up and running.”
