Danfoss has officially opened its new visitor experience, ‘Seeing is Believing’ at its headquarters in Silkeborg, Denmark.
This year’s Heating Installer Awards winners joined Danfoss representatives on 29 September to officially mark the occasion.
Danfoss said the new experience gives visitors an insight into the company’s heating heritage, innovation and manufacturing expertise. It takes them behind the products and technologies that are helping shape the future of energy-efficient heating.
According to the company, the new experience is expected to welcome hundreds of local and international visitors each year.
At the heart of the experience is the story of the thermostatic radiator valve (TRV), tracing its development from one of the very first valves produced by founder Mads Clausen in 1943 through to the technology available today. Visitors can see one of only 10 original TRVs manufactured in 1943 and explore how radiator thermostat technology has evolved over more than 80 years. Danfoss added that the experience connects this pioneering heritage with the challenges facing the heating industry now. It highlights the development of technologies designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and support the transition towards more sustainable heating.
For the Heating Installer Awards winners, the visit also provided an opportunity to see first-hand how products used in their day-to-day work are manufactured. The group was taken inside the factory to see the TRV caps production line and distribution process. As a special memento of their visit, the winners were also able to create their own boxes of TRV caps personalised with their names.
Angela Leth, vice president of sales and marketing at Danfoss Hydronics, who officially opened the experience along with the awards winners, said: “Installers are at the heart of everything we do, and the UK is one of Danfoss’ most important strategic markets, so it was particularly fitting to have the Heating Installer Awards winners from the UK with us as we opened Seeing is Believing.
“The experience is designed to give installers a deeper understanding of the engineering, testing and manufacturing standards behind our products, while demonstrating how individual components contribute to the wider performance and efficiency of heating and hydronic systems. We are looking forward to welcoming many more installers to the experience throughout this year and beyond.”
