“We agree with CIPHE on the issue of apprentices (Plumbzine 430). We have tried hard over the last 18 months to increase the uptake in apprentices from colleges. Having visited many in the London area to have workshops with the students. If we hadn’t had put that effort in ourselves we fear that potentially these students would never have even known that an apprenticeship, especially in the commercial field, was even a viable option for them.
“We are continuing to work in this area, increasing the visibility and viability of plumbing apprenticeships in the commercial sector, but it will require us to all work together as a cohesive unit in order to tackle the potential issues that we face post-Brexit.”
