The Heating Installer Awards has returned for a third year to once again find the Best Heating Installer in the UK.

In an industry often plagued with cowboy horror stories, the awards recognise the efforts of tradespeople who go above and beyond for their customers every day. Open for entry from the beginning of October, the Heating Installer Awards celebrates outstanding work within the plumbing and heating sectors.

Sponsored by Danfoss, Wolseley, Avanti Gas, Polypipe, Sentinel, Installer Magazine, and Vaillant UK, the Heating Installer Awards has previously highlighted some of the UK’s best plumbers and heating installers who continually demonstrate expert technicality and skill, deliver exceptional customer service and use the most innovative technology in their installations.

Entries are open until February, when an expert panel of judges will select a deserved finalist from 11 regions across the UK. Upon the announcement of the regional shortlist, the vote will go to the British public, who will decide the UK’s Best Heating Installer 2018. The overall winner will be announced at the industry trade show Installer, with previous winner, Peter Booth of Loughborough, handing over his crown.

Neil Davies, trade marketing director of Sentinel, said: “The Heating Installer Awards truly celebrates the positives of working in the plumbing and heating industry, recognising those who constantly innovate and add to their customer service offering to ensure the UK’s families are taken care of when it comes to their heating. We are proud to be working with the awards, as it not only brings installers together through a shared love of a thriving industry, but also encourages tradespeople to be even more professional, determined and dedicated to their customers.”

Rachel Smith, head of marketing from lead sponsor, Polypipe, said: “Those working within plumbing and heating are faced with an ever changing industry. Only the highest-quality tradespeople are able to keep up with advancing technology and techniques that result in technically-sound installations, while simultaneously offering the very best customer service to end users. The Heating Installer Awards works to give credit to those people, giving them the recognition they deserve for making the industry so special.”

Peter Booth, of G V Booth Plumbing, last year’s winner, added: “Throughout the course of my career, and especially since winning the competition last year, I have spent a lot of my personal time trying to unite the champions of the industry.

“The Heating Installer Awards is a great way to acknowledge this hard work and while I won’t be happy to give up my crown, other installers deserve the recognition I’ve enjoyed since last year’s competition.”

To enter, plumbers and heating installers should visit: www.heatinginstallerawards.co.uk and fill in the short form, detailing a project the installer is particularly proud of, or which demonstrates going above and beyond for the customer.

Providing additional information such as images and even video footage of a job well done will help the judges to rate the work carried out. Entries with extra detail and information on how the installation changed the daily lifestyle of a customer will be judged favourably.

For the first time, the awards is inviting entries from plumbers-in-training. To enter, plumbing and heating apprentices should visit the Twitter handle: @AotMAwards, or email: apprentice@refreshpr.co.uk, and submit a short video, highlighting their feats as an apprentice.
