Construction enquirer awardsWinners will be revealed during a gala night at UK Construction Week at the Vox, NEC Birmingham on October 18.

One of the most prized awards on the night will be for ‘Best Main Contractor To Work For (Over £250m Turnover)’. A range of leading firms have been initially shortlisted for this title including Carillion, BAM and Willmott Dixon, but competition will be fierce, with Kier Group, Amey, Galliford Try and 16 others also nominated.

Contractors have also been nominating their favourite clients to work for within both the private and public sectors. An array of high-profile clients has been put forward for the title of ‘Best Client To Work For (Private Sector)’ covering a host of industries. The historic University of Cambridge has been nominated, along with Heathrow Airport and gas utility supplier, National Grid.

Nominations are also in for the title of ‘Best Client To Work With (Public Sector)’ with the local city councils of Liverpool, Birmingham and Coventry all nominated, as well as the Ministry of Justice and the BBC.

Other categories at the awards include: ‘Best Main Contractor To Work For (£50m – £250m Turnover), Best Main Contractor to Work For (Under £50m turnover), Best Specialist Contractor To Work For (Over £25m Turnover), Best Specialist Contractor to Work For (£5m to £25m turnover), Best Specialist Contractor to Work For (Under £5m turnover), Best Construction Supplier to Work For, Best Main Contractor to Work With (£50m-£250m turnover) and Best Main Contractor to Work With (Under £50m turnover).

The Top Ten companies in each category will be announced prior to the awards evening and will take a trophy and branded materials home with them, which can be used across their marketing collateral – from site hoardings to advertising campaigns to promote their status.
