I’ve come across a Fortic combination cylinder and tank in a customer’s loft and the customer is complaining of poor pressure in an ensuite mixer shower. Is there any way to increase the pressure – i.e. a shower pump? The Fortic cylinder cannot be sited anywhere else.

Fortic cylinders are not that common anymore and were typically installed into flats or maisonettes, where there was no roof space to site a cold water storage tank to obtain better pressure. I would recommend that the cylinder is replaced with a mains pressure unvented hot water storage cylinder which will deliver hot water at more or less the same pressure as the water mains delivers it.
