Three London cab drivers have swapped picking up passengers on the streets of London to plumb work, with the help of construction training providers Able Skills (www.ableskills.co.uk)

Tony Cook, Marc Hawney and Jamie Capon all finished their City and Guilds Accredited Level Two Plumbing Course training with Able Skills, an accredited training centre delivering qualifications from City & Guilds, EAL, CITB and BPEC amongst others.

The reason for switching life in the cab to working in the plumbing industry was all three had concerns about the direction the industry was going in. So they decided to retrain.

Now qualified, all three will now undertake gas training, also at Able Skills later in the year, which will enable the Cabby Plumbers to offer even more to their growing list of customers.

Tony said: “Myself & Marc had been friends for a number of years and it was at Able Skills we met Jamie. All three of us seem to click straight away and that’s when the idea of the Cabby Plumbers was born. People want tradesman who can do a good job and who they can trust. We believe that people already trust a London Cabby and that’s what will help us build the brand.”
