Purple Energy has won the ‘Small Business of the Year’ Award at the 2015 Sentinel Business Awards.
The awards celebrate the success and achievements of businesses across Staffordshire and South Cheshire, culminating in a gala dinner for over 400 at the King’s Hall in Stoke-on-Trent.
Working nationally, Purple Energy specialises in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of renewable heating systems for commercial and domestic buildings.
Managing director, Dr Matthew Goodwin, said:
“Although our staff, engineers and apprentices are from the local area, much of our work designing and installing renewable heating systems is nationwide. Hopefully winning such a prestigious award will put us on the map locally and will enable us to win more new business in Staffordshire and South Cheshire.”
The category was open to businesses from the local area that have demonstrated solid success, judged by a nine-strong panel of local business experts including UKTI Staffordshire and the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.
Purple Energy has become involved in an increasing number of large commercial installations within the field of wood fuelled biomass boilers, often utilising district heating schemes that heat multiple properties via the same plant.
The award comes a year after Purple Energy expanded into new head offices in Stoke-on-Trent, renovating an old mill which is now heated by a wood pellet fuelled biomass boiler.
