Boiler installations and maintenance are bread and butter business for installers. But when it comes to ‘off-grid’ there is a common misconception that it’s tricky to replace oil systems with alternatives, which may prevent installers recommending customers switch to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

Installers usually find LPG boilers easier to install than oil boilers, and around the same size and connected in the same way as a mains gas boiler. They’re highly energy efficient with many A-rated options available, and are on average £900 cheaper than buying a new oil boiler.

Considered alongside fuel storage, lifetime ownership cost of an LPG system is often less – a replacement oil tank can cost £2,000, whereas Calor provides an LPG tank free of charge and will also look after its maintenance and upkeep.

There’s a range of LPG storage options available – above ground and underground tanks, compact cylinder packs – and Calor is on hand to support installers through every stage of the installation process.
