Sales through specialist plumbing merchants during the third quarter of 2021 were higher than the same quarter in both 2020 and 2019.
According to The Builders Merchants Federation’s latest Plumbing & Heating Merchants Index, sales in Q3 2021 increased by 7.3% compared Q3 2020, with one less trading day this year.
Looking back to Q3 2019, pre-Covid, finds total sales were up by 1.7% in July to September 2021, again with one less trading day this year.
However, the quarter-on-quarter comparison for the current year show Q3 sales were 0.4% lower than Q2 2021, with three more trading days in Q3. Total sales in the last 12-month period were 17.6% ahead of the previous 12 months, according to the Index.
