Stainless steel heat transfer products manufacturer, Fabdec, has been awarded the Best Manufacturer award at the Shropshire Business Awards following a year of sustained growth.

The awards celebrate manufacturers that demonstrate world-class standards and a commitment to industry innovation, training and apprenticeships, and exemplary customer service.

The past year has seen Fabdec launch the WXI Hi-Flo water heater, invest in environmentally-friendly LED lighting to improve productivity and employee wellbeing, and hire a group of apprentices across its manufacturing, engineering and commercial divisions. The company has also invested in new technologies to achieve efficiencies and improve competitiveness.

Chris Powell, managing director, said: “It’s brilliant to receive this recognition from the local business community, and serves as a fantastic acknowledgement of our commitment to excellence and the regional economy we’ve been a part of for more than 50 years.

“2017 was a strong year for the business, with growth across our dairy, brewery and water heating divisions, and increasing expansion into foreign markets including North America, Germany, Russia and Japan.

“We’re excited to continue bringing industry-leading innovations like the WXI Hi-Flo water heater to the market, and to build on the unique 3S technology that powers it. As we do so, we’re optimistic about the opportunities this will create to bring more jobs and apprenticeships to the local area.”
