101 We all need a boost C R O S SWO R D We are all aware that the water pressure in our homes isn’t always what it should be. This is something that up until now, many people inside and outside the industry believed was just “one of those things” and was something they just needed to accept. This response certainly coincides with the feedback we’ve been receiving since we launched the GRUNDFOS SCALA2 (pictured below), which has already been universally welcomed onto the market. Today, these WRAS approved SCALA2 units are the perfect choice for residential buildings with up to three floors and eight tap outlets, as well as being a great choice for when the application requires you to boost from roof tanks, break tanks and ground tanks. SCALA2 can be used with a break tank or to boost pressure directly into a combi boiler or unvented cylinder system, and because their suction lift performance enables the break tank to be located up to 8 metres below the pump location, this includes the option of boosting from wells. This flexibility makes it the ideal and only boosting partner you will need to deliver the water delivery results required around the home. As the SCALA2 is equipped with intelligent pump control, this means it automatically adjusts its operation to deliver the required water pressure via the integrated sensor that detects if the inlet pressure varies. So, if there are several taps open, it immediately tells the pump to boost the pressure. This all happens so fast, that there is no discernible interruption to the water pressure. Their compact size means a minimal footprint and enables them to be sited in small spaces such as a kitchen cabinet or airing cupboard. They offer great value for money and with a noise level of 47 dB(A) in typical use, SCALA2 is one of the quietest boosters in its class and with just one variant are suitable for all domestic applications. So, if your application needs a boost, you’ve the ideal answer in the Grundfos SCALA2.
