35 BATHROOMS & SHOWERS Impey explains how to achieve effective waterproofing, AKW highlights the increasing need for safer bathrooms as the population ages and Mira Showers looks at how digital products are providing opportunities for growth The height of digital fashion Matt Travertine offers natural stone appeal and value enquiry number 121 Available in wall and deck-mounted versions and in two design options, the new Geberit tap system changes the thinking behind touchless taps in the washroom. In the past, it was the control technology in or behind the tap housing which made many touchless taps larger and less elegant than conventional taps. Geberit's tap system provides an elegant solution to this problem. With a separate outlet for the control, the tap is slimline, while access for service and maintenance is easy. The system works in conjunction with the Geberit Duofix installation frame behind the wall, for a seamless finish in front of it. All that is visible is the tap and the infra-red sensor. All the electronic components, as well as the mixer, valves and the power supply are housed in a separate function box, installed in the pre-wall in an easily accessible, yet well protected position under the washbasin. All key components, including the robust mounting plate for the wall-mounted tap, function box, washbasin fastening and the drain, are height-adjustable. This means that the Geberit Duofix installation frames can be adapted to suit virtually any installation situation. A robust retainer for the wall-mounted tap makes final installation simple here too, with no further alignment of the tap housing needed once it is in place. For precision fitting, the frame features a pre-mounted crossbar which can be adjusted to allow the distance between the wall-mounted tap and washbasin to be set with ease. Different versions of the Geberit Duofix installation frame are available for use with conventional traps or with the space saving Geberit concealed trap. www.geberit.co.uk www.hpmmag.com May 2017 Mira Showers has launched the Mira Mode, a high aesthetic, accessibly-priced mixer that offers users the added convenience of app control from smartphones. The app allows for straightforward set up, maximum temperature setting and easy troubleshooting. A crucial benefit is the ability to configure feeds and outlets with the app. This means pipework can be installed as convenient or obviates the need for awkward additional work when trying to align with existing pipework, as outlets can be nominated subsequently through the app. The wall-mounted main and remote controls are clean, contemporary devices that provide on, off or outlet selection at the touch of a button. Twelve Mode product options are offered with either ceiling or rear fed fittings available, and a choice of valves – a high pressure valve for mains pressurised systems or combination boilers or a pumped valve for low pressure or gravity fed systems – to choose from. Eight valve-only options are also available. Outlet options include a single outlet shower; a dual outlet with a 200mm drench head and handset that can be used together or independently; a shower and bath fill option (rear-fed, single shower outlet only) and a solus bath-fill. Connection between the controller and valve unit is by low-voltage data cable. The valve can also be sited up to ten metres from the controller. It comes with a fittings kit, which includes the new 130mm Mira Switch handshower and a friction clamp bracket that can be operated singlehandedly. www.mirashowers.co.uk Silver Travertine Matt mirrors the natural beauty of a creamy grey marble in a fashionable matt finish, while offering the advantages of easy and fast installation and a fully waterproof finish at a price-point that delivers good value, design and quality.
