WATER HEATING, TANKS & CYLINDERS GLEDHILL LOOKS AT THE SPECIFICATION CONSIDERATIONS OF UNVENTED HOT WATER CYLINDERS AND RINNAI COMPARES CONTINUOUS Heating controls specialist, Drayton, has launched the new MiStat Wireless Cylinder Thermostat, which offers the ideal solution for hot water control. The device is part of Drayton’s new Mi Series, an all-encompassing range of heating control products. The MiStat Cylinder Thermostat uses advanced wireless technology that offers a reliable two-way wireless connection. The device meets Part P of the Building Regulations too, which is in place to make fixed electrical installations in buildings safer. The MiStat Wireless Cylinder Thermostat is also available as part of the new MiTime RF Wireless Packs three and five. These packs feature wireless enabled programmers, pre-bound with a choice of room thermostats and cylinder thermostats for a complete control solution. Devices in Mi Series feature ‘easitext’, an on screen step-by-step programming guide that makes navigating and setting the controls easy. In fact, ‘easitext’ is so intuitive, both installers and homeowners may never need to look at a manual to understand how to operate the controls. FLOW WITH HEAT AND FLOW A Rapide response from Gledhill Gledhill, the cylinder specialist, is offering a same day collection service for standard core vented and unvented cylinders through its nationwide depot infrastructure, with the launch of the new Gledhill Rapide service. Designed to ensure that installers can purchase the product they need within the timeframe it’s required, the new Rapide service will see Gledhill’s nationwide network of depots working closely with merchants to meet installers’ time critical requirements. If there is no suitable cylinder available from stock at the local merchant, the installer simply needs to complete the Gledhill specials form, which is available from merchants or downloadable from the Gledhill website, place their order with all specification details, and receive a price from the nearest depot within an hour. Orders placed for standard products before 1pm are eligible for same day collection from the nearest depot, or Gledhill will deliver the product to site free of charge the following day. Rinnai’s renewables range boosts performance Rinnai’s solar water heating solutions are designed to offer a blend of eco-friendly technologies, guaranteed to provide a constant flow of hot water. Hot water produced by a HE Rinnai condensing continuous flow water heater can be utilised as a secondary heat source for a solar or air source heat pump boosted hot water delivery system. Rinnai Infinity HDC1500 and HDC 1200 condensing continuous flow water heaters can be easily retro fitted to existing systems, or supplied as turnkey packages. Featuring flat plate or evacuated tube collectors, the units can act as a booster to preheated water from a heat pump or heat recovery system. A Rinnai unit used as a solar gas booster maximises solar gain, as it only consumes energy when a boost in temperature is required, as the Infinity systems have internal monitoring controls and a modulation range from 58kw-2.4kw, the water heaters read the hot water temperature and only inject the amount of gas required to boost the water temperature. When the renewable source achieves temperature, the unit is inactive. Fossil fuel is only used when the renewable thermal energy store is below its set-point, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and the dependency on fuel.
