DOMESTIC HEATING NU-HEAT UNDERFLOOR HEATING AND RENEWABLES EXAMINES WARM WATER UNDERFLOOR HEATING, DRAYTON REVEALS HOW INSTALLERS CAN BOOST BUSINESS AND VOKERA LOOKS AT MODULATION RATIOS Underfloor heating (UFH) installers, plumbers and heating engineers, who are part of Polypipes’s Registered Installer Network and buy Polypipe UFH products, will be eligible to join its relaunched loyalty scheme. To join the Polypipe Plus loyalty scheme, UFH installers must visit the website and register to take part. Points will be awarded for purchases made. Points can be earned in a number of ways, from purchasing Polypipe products to completing a profile on the Checkatrade website, and providing case studies. By registering for the scheme, installers can earn themselves 500 points. The points can be redeemed for a number of items including branded workwear (from 2,000 points). 30,000 points will get members an UFH test kit, or for 100,000, members can get a plumbing pressing gun. The online system tracks how points have been earned and spent. All clothing items, which are available in various UK sizes, are displayed online. Affordable warmth with Valor Gas Fires Gas and electric fire manufacturer, Valor, continues to assist Westfield Housing Association with its central heating upgrade programme, by providing tenants with a choice of gas fires that deliver heat efficiency, low running costs and affordable warmth. InTec units installed at new housing development A new housing development in Hertfordshire, Beehive Place, has been fitted with 13 different Alpha boiler systems to meet the varied needs of the range of one, two and three bedroom properties built by developer, Moody Homes. It was essential for Moody Homes to meet Level 3 Code for Sustainable Homes, which ensures that the carbon emissions of all new build properties are significantly reduced through the integration of more sustainable products and materials during construction. Alpha’s InTec 24X boilers were installed in the one -bedroom apartments and cottages at Beehive Place. As part of Alpha’s entry level boiler range, the InTec 24X comes with a new LCD control panel that provides detailed heating and hot water information to assist with operation, servicing and maintenance. Within the three-bedroom properties, Alpha’s newest solar thermal units, SolarSmart 100 were combined with the InTec 30C.
