Dimplex solar collector Dimplex Renewables has launched a new flat plate solar collector - the SOL202, offering high efficiency and flexible ease-of-installation. The SOL202 is suited for domestic installations, offering maximum solar gain to improve efficiency thanks to the Harp configured, laser welded absorber and highly selective blue coating. The whole assembly is encased in a lightweight weatherproof aluminium frame, with bonded 3.2mm solar safety glass, offering 90% transmission to ensure a wide range of the solar spectrum is absorbed. Suitable for landscape or portrait orientation with a connection of up to four panels in series, roof kit packages are also available with a choice of Dimplex fixing kits suitable for tile, slate, metal roof, roof integrated, flat roof or free standing. Standard 22mm compression connections ensure reliable installation. The SOL202 comes with a ten-year warranty and Solar Keymark. Warmup upgrades sensor Danfoss has launched the new DHP-R Eco, a light commercial ground source heat pump. The new heat pump's performance is the result of Danfoss’ cooling circuit, coupled with a new design of compressor, new refrigerant and the latest generation heat exchanger. In addition, it features an in-built hot gas exchanger and a new electronic expansion valve. DHP-R Eco has nine control circuits for enquiry number 101 heating/cooling, which means that it can be adjusted to suit all types of property and heating system. Available in 22, 26, 33 and 42 kW sizes, it can be cascade-connected to up to eight machines, achieving a total output of up to 336 kW. A controller monitors the whole system, including heat pumps, cooling, hot water and an internet monitoring facility provides the user with the reassurance via SMS or email in the unlikely event that a fault should occur. 16 FEBRUARY 2014 HEATING & PLUMBING MONTHLY R innai has developed controls for its Infinity range of energy efficient condensing gas fired continuous flow water heaters that are compatible with Building Management Systems (BMS). The technology will integrate its hot water systems into BMS protocols maximising energy efficiencies in large buildings, even in multi-tenanted sites. Chris Goggin, operations manager at Rinnai, said: “Technically advanced Rinnai Infinity units equipped with smart controls definitely have their part to play as they cut emissions and are very frugal on gas consumption.” With the impending implementation of Part L of the Building Regulations, Rinnai has a comprehensive range of products that already go the extra mile in terms of efficiencies and are effectively future proofed against any future changes in legislation. Armitage Shanks has launched a demountable hospital mixer with a detachable spout. Developed with healthcare professionals and bacteriologists, Markwik, the mixer is designed to enquiry number 104 ensure hospital hygiene and minimise the spread of infection. The range remains fully compliant to requirements for hospital fittings and infection control regimes. The demountable mixer option allows for the whole body of the fitting to be removed from the wall. Markwik’s in-built sterilisation system allows hot water to be flushed through all areas of the tap using a sterilisation bridge. The demountable body allows the fitting to be totally immersed for disinfection, while the detachable spout can be sterilised in an auto clave device. The profile of the tap and inlet positions remain the same, meaning the range can be fitted as part of a new installation or retro-fitted to existing installations. Viridian Solar announces the launch of Highline, a new solar thermal panel for installation above pitched roofs. The panels have a frameless design, a single laser-welded absorber sheet and clear glass, with matching black casing and mounting rail. The 'gravity-lock' system simplifies panel installation and improves installation accuracy. Panels slide into the lower rail to be held in an aligned position to ensure a durable hydraulic connection between panels. Highline is available from February 2014. Warmup, the floor heating products and controls specialists, has upgraded the floor sensor, or ‘probe’, in its 3iE energy-monitor thermostat. The new sensor upgrade offers numerous benefits. It is more resilient and flexible - making installation easier. It is suitable for thinner floor build-ups and installation time is shorter. A smaller channel is required for probe wire and the new probe no longer requires use of conduit and cap to meet Warmup’s warranty conditions. In addition, the upgrade will save around seven tonnes of embodied carbon every year. Warmup products are European compliant, CE marked and accredited by most independent institutions. Warmup offer a SafetyNet installation guarantee, lifetime warranty. The conduit and cap is available separately for £12.49 ex. VAT.
