From Smiths enquiry number 939 There are twelve compelling reasons to install REHAU’s range of district heating pipework – according to the brand new 12 page brochure just published by the company behind the market leading RAUVITHERM and RAUTHERMEX brands. Amongst them is the fact that REHAU’s pipework uses 10% less material than steel and has fittings which are up to 50% quicker to fit with no hot works. Also, the DUO form of the pipework is available in 400m lengths so needs fewer joints and, in the RAUTHERMEX version, has the best lambda value (0.0216 W/mk lamda) of any pre-insulated pipe available in the UK. Alongside the overall benefits of choosing district heating, the brochure sets out all of the specific benefits to consultants and contractors of working with REHAU including its UK based sales and technical support team, BIM modelling capability and UK manufacturing. There is also guidance for specifiers on choosing between RAUVITHERM and RAUTHERMEX depending on the thermal performance and flexibility requirements of the project. The brochure can be downloaded from the REHAU website at www.rehau.co.uk/districtheating and is available for mobile or tablet via the REHAU Docs app. enquiry number 940 Harold Hill Library benefits from UFH From Ambiente The new Harold Hill Library in Romford opened on Monday 5 September 2016 offering local residents with contemporary facilities in a brand new building. Underfloor heating was the preferred heating solution for this project, and Ambiente were proud to be selected to design and supply the system. Not only did UFH create the most comfortable method of heating for the building users, but also gave complete design flexibility and allowed the available wall space to be maximised for shelves and desking. The AmbiClip system was selected for this project, with the pipework stapled onto the insulation layer, and then the screed laid on top of this. The system is controlled by Ambiente DS-SB set-back dial thermostats for optimum heating efficiency. enquiry number 936 Mirror technology demistifies Centre Point Tower From Heat Mat enquiry number 937 Rinnai, the UK’s leading manufacturer of continuous flow water heating systems, has transformed the hot water delivery arrangements at a busy Caravan Club site in the Malvern Hills. The decision was taken to install four Rinnai HDC1500i gas fired continuous flow heaters to provide a neverending supply of temperature-safe hot water for even the busiest of times. The Caravan Club site now benefits from energy and cost savings due to the fact that the new heaters are more efficient providing instantaneous hot water as required rather than having large amounts of stored hot water that is continually re-heated.
