B E S T P R O D U C T S O F 2 0 1 6 Added dimension with Valor’s electric fire range Valor has extended its range of Dimension electric fires with two new designs, each available in brass or chrome finish for greater choice. The new designs will offer greater flexibility when choosing a Valor Dimension electric fire. Customers can combine the Dimension technology with a choice of Blenheim or Downton fret designs, which mirror those offered in Valor’s mix and match range of Trueflame and Airflame gas fires, launched last year. The new models each provide up to 1.35kW heat output with a choice of heat controls, can be used independently of the heat and come complete with remote control for easy operation. Running costs are minimised thanks to energy efficiency LED lights and for extra piece of mind, all fires incorporate a thermal safety cut out feature. Additional spacer kits are also available. enquiry number 946 Fabdec’s 3S Technology is rapidly becoming recognised as a game changer in the unvented water heater segment. At the forefront of unvented systems for almost 50 years, the Shropshire based manufacturing company pioneered the original internal expansion system and the latest 3S Technology takes this to a new level. The 3S patented system offers a maintenance free option of automatically replenishing the internal air gap – the ‘Self-Sustaining System’. Based on the Venturi principle, this creates a negative pressure at the narrowest point without detriment to the through flowrate, and so atmospheric air is drawn into the system as water is demanded upstream. This is retained in the top of the inner vessel but through careful calculation does not starve the hot water supply. As this repeatedly occurs as per the hot water demand the air gap never deteriorates in performance over a period of time as a conventional air expansion system would, massively reducing the usual maintenance schedule. Stuart Doggrell, General Manager at Fabdec, said: “This is a beautifully simple solution that is revolutionising how straightforward an unvented water heating system should be. With no moving parts, improved packaging and hassle free long-life operation, this is a winning combination for installers, landlords and end-users alike.” Launched for 2017 into a pre-plumb Excelsior i variant, the new range ensures that the Venturi, control valves, combination inlet valve, and pump are all preassembled and wired to a central wiring centre adding further to the ease of installation. With just three core components, the NEA Controller and a choice of two room thermostats, the NEA system couldn’t be simpler to operate, or easier to install. The REHAU NEA system uses low voltage wiring so it can be fitted by the installer at the same time as the floor system is installed and it even features both wired and wireless unobtrusive thermostats as required. The NEA Smart System is suitable for use in residential and light commercial installations, and with the capability to network up to 56 control areas together, even the largest of installations can be realised using a single control system. The software within the controller is sophisticated enough to adapt to the requirements of installations where there is UFH on the ground floor and radiators on the upper floors and even to the characteristics of different pumps. It can optimise the efficiency and comfort levels of the UFH system by effectively learning the programming behaviour of the end user and anticipating heat demand in advance so as to reduce unnecessary boiler cycling. www.hpmmag.com December 2016 Game changing 3S Technology enquiry number 949 Smaller lighter and faster Gerberit has launched a new generation of pressing tools. The new battery-operated pressing tool ACO 203 and the new mains-operated pressing tool ECO 203 from Geberit are now more user friendly. Lighter in weight, ECO 203 weighs just 2.8kg while the ACO 203 weighs in at 3.2kg – including the rechargeable battery the tools are ten per cent more powerful. This speeds up the pressing process accordingly and makes them particularly ideal for carrying out work overhead. Integrated LEDs ensure that the sections being pressed are well-illuminated. With easy-to-service brushless motors, the Geberit pressing tools are driven electro-hydraulically for increased efficiency on site. The ACO 203 is equipped with modern lithium-ion battery technology, enabling up to 40% more pressing operations per battery charge. enquiry number 947 enquiry number 948 50 YEARS OF INNOVATION SPONSORED BY www.alpha-innovation.co.uk For any product you want more information on, simply note the enquiry number that is shown and fill out the reader enquiry card.
