BOILERS, SERVICING & PARTS BAXI OFFERS SOME ADVICE ON HOW PLUMBERS CAN MAXIMISE THEIR MOBILE ASSETS, VOKERA LOOKS AT HOW CUSTOMER SERVICE CAN BE IMPROVED AND DRAYTON HIGHLIGHTS THE ADVANTAGES OF USING WIRELESS PRODUCTS Heating controls manufacturer, Grässlin, has released its range of QEG programmers. The products have a service reminder feature, which enables the heating engineer to set a boiler service interval of up to 400 days. When it’s due for a service the reminder will display the heating engineer’s contact details, so all your customers have to do is get on the phone to you to book the service. According to business review website Which? Local, the average price of a boiler service is £60. Using these figures as a guideline, any installer who fitted 100 boilers a year would secure an extra revenue of £6,000 through annual servicing if they fitted Grässlin’s QEG programmers. Grässlin’s UK sales and marketing director, Bryan Gates, said: “We’ve developed a product that helps the consumer to control their energy use, but it helps heating engineers too. “The service reminder feature encourages best practice through regular boiler service work, and it also helps heating engineers to secure regular work.” Fulton launches highly efficient hot water boiler Fulton, a manufacturer of steam, hot water and thermal fluid boilers, is introducing a new, highly efficient modular hot water boiler. Fulton sales and marketing manager, Carl Knight, said: “The new FHE-250 will complement the company’s existing range of boilers and its introduction enables Fulton to fulfil the many requests it receives for a hot water solution.” With steam and hot water being the key to many processes, the list of potential industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, medical and food and beverage applications for a Fulton boiler is almost endless. The new FHE-250 low-temperature hot water boiler will initially be available in a 250kW model and features a fully-condensing, stainless steel heat exchanger. A modular approach to its design also means that additional boilers can be combined to suit any application and hot water requirement. With the complexity of control being a criticism of many hot water boilers available on the market today, the new FHE uses a single control panel, which is capable of controlling a single unit or a modular installation. No wiring or tools required for SALUS thermostat SALUS has released the iT500BM, a thermostat that may be installed without any wiring. Connection to the heating system is simply achieved via SALUS’ combination boiler modules. Designed to fit into the front of the most popular combination boilers in the UK, the SALUS boiler module simply connects via Radio Frequency to the remote iT500 thermostat unit and the gateway, which provides internet capability. Like the iT500, the iT500BM comes without monthly or annual connection fees and is one of the simplest units to connect to the internet for control through a smart phone, PC or tablet. The unit has no fixed IP address and can be easily removed and taken to another location without having to re-register it The iT500 features a touch sensitive master control unit that can be positioned anywhere in the home, both table top or wall mounted, to sense the room temperature. This unit operates in conjunction with an exclusively designed SALUS app that can be downloaded. This enables users to take full control of their heating programmes by selecting various options via their smartphone or PC to enable the perfect temperature to be set at the required time.
