SHOWERS,WETROOMS&ENCLOSURES A luxurious showering solution HPM reports on the installation of a Kinemagic recessed walk-in cubicle by Kinedo, part of the Saniflo group... The Kinemagic walk-in shower cubicle has been designed by shower brand, Kinedo (part of the Saniflo group). This step-by-step guide shows how a Kinemagic can be easily installed in the space previously occupied by a 1,700mm bath to offer a luxurious showering solution. Equipped with a fold-up seat and a grab rail it is the ideal bathroom solution for customers requiring easy bathing access. Opening into the unit can be either right or left handed and can be with or without door. Step one: Make ready the area for the new shower unit by removing the previous installation Step two: Ensure floor area is level for the shower tray. The Kinemagic anti-slip tray is 1,600mm wide and requires a minimum of 35mm all round to accommodate the pipework and fittings in a 1,700mm space. A 1,700mm tray requires 35mm all round. Install tray directly on to floor surface and bed down. There are optional legs with the shower tray if extra height is required Step three: Mark up for wall panel brackets, drill and affix to wall Step four: Take the first opaque glass interior panel. This accommodates the modern shower valve and fittings and affix all fittings including the trims. Slot the panel into the grooves of the shower tray and fix using the bolts and washers to the frame and fixing bracket Step five: The second panel has pre-drilled holes to accommodate a seat fitting. If the seat is required, then fix to this panel. If not required, then use the cover caps supplied to plug the holes. This sits to the rear of the cubicle area along with the third large opaque panel. Both should be installed as per step three Step six: The fourth internal opaque side panel accommodates a high quality grab rail to facilitate easy access in and out the shower cubicle and is installed as above Step seven: Now is time to fit the front clear glass panel to the valve panel. Once in place fit the top rail and seals and bottom fixing Step eight: If a door has been specified, fix the chrome handle to the door and fit the door using the three sets of rollers to the top rail, fit door magnets and adjust if needed. Step nine: Now fix the shower head, hose and handset in to place, press on all the screw head covers and hang the chrome and glass shelves over the back panel. Fix stops to the top rail to impede door banging. Two infil panels are supplied to fill the gap between cubicle and wall. Cut and install as required to provide a seamless finish to the edge of the walls Step ten: Your silicone free, grout free and leak free cubicle is now ready. The tempered eight mm door panel and the six mm glass panels are coated with Cristal Plus for durability and ease of cleaning and will stay looking great for longer. 52 DECEMBER 2013 HEATING & PLUMBING MONTHLY WWW.HPMMAG.COM Got a story?
