NEWPRODUCTS Airflow has launched a new Loovent eco SELV range. The eco SELV range now includes a 12v DC transformer. Timer and humidity timer options are available and it can be surface or recessed mounted within zones one or two of any en-suite, shower-room or bathroom. The decentralised 12-volt low energy fans offer reduced energy consumption compared with standard models, with decentralised mechanical extract ventilation versions designed to meet the requirements of SAP Appendix Q and featuring continuous ventilation operation of up to seven or nine l/sec with a boost speed of 15 l/sec. From just 25 d(B)A the Loovent eco is also quiet in operation. Designed with the same mounting chassis as previous Loovent models, replacement is easy. HEATING & PLUMBING MONTHLY DECEMBER 2013 19 Heating system protection that operates without a trace Alpha Heating Innovation has introduced its new InTec Trace Heating Kit. The accessory, which is compatible with Alpha’s InTec range of boilers, prevents the external condensate pipe from freezing when the outside temperature drops below 2°C. Consisting of a relay PCB, outside weather probe and a three metre length of trace heating wire. The wire is spiralled around the external condensate pipe and run back to the PCB that is fitted within the boiler. The connection of the outside weather probe then enables the weather compensation feature on the boiler. When this reaches anything below 2°C and the boiler is running, the trace heating kit is activated. The relay PCB then supplies a current to the trace heating wire causing it to heat up and prevent the condensate from freezing. Designed to significantly speed up simple on-site repairs, Tarmac Building Products, provider of heavy building materials, has launched its Cempak Wetmix concrete and mortar range; the trade’s fastest patch repair product. Available as Wetmix Patch Repair Concrete and Wetmix Patch Repair Mortar, they require no mixing and are ready to use straight out of the tub. The Wetmix™ range can set in just four hours and is ideal for plumbers, electricians, gas fitters, installers and handy men alike. Both products can be used for interior and exterior applications such as pointing grouting and rendering, as well as repairing bricks, floors and steps. Rainwater systems blocked with leaves and other debris could be a thing of the past, thanks to Hunter’s new Outlet Leaf Guard, the latest addition to its unrivalled range of PVC-U rainwater products. It is easy to install and fits into any 68mm rainwater outlet and prevents blockages by leaves and other debris, maintaining optimum flow rates, and making gutters virtually maintenance-free. The Outlet Leaf Guard will not detract from the clean lines of the rainwater installation with bulky clips and is available in black – still by far the most popular colour for rainwater. The Leaf Guard range also includes a Gutter Leaf Guard which clips on to gutter without the need for special tools or fixings and a Drain Leaf Guard designed to protect outside drains from blockage. It accepts rainwater downpipes of any size up to 110mm in diameter and covers a drain opening up to 300mm wide and 265mm deep. It can simply be screw fixed to the wall and removed to gain necessary access. Inta is celebrating success after learning that plumbers and installers are responding well to its plumbing and heating products, as the range approaches its first-year anniversary. Known in the industry for anti-scald taps, valves and showers, Inta launched its first catalogue with a comprehensive range of products last December. With everything from thermostatic and pressure reducing valves right through to the company’s magnetic filter, the Intaklean, merchant feedback has shown that the industry is increasingly using - and trusting - Inta’s heating offering.
