The Combimate, a limescale and soft water corrosion reduction system, has been installed at the school’s facilities located in this notoriously hard water area. Hard water affects appliances, such as taps, radiators, pipes and valves by gradually leaving a build-up of limescale that causes damage through corrosion and can eventually cause a blockage. The Combimate provides a solution to this problem, helping to save on the cost of appliance maintenance, potential replacement and hiking energy bills. For more information visit www.combimate.com.uk High capacity solar thermal system from Oventrop A high capacity solar thermal system from Oventrop has been installed at Colchester United’s new training facilities to provide energy efficient and effective hot water preparation to cope with the supply of around 80 showers a day. Heat is harnessed using eight roof mounted Oventrop OKF-CS22 high capacity flat plate collectors with an anti-reflective glass increasing the transmission by an additional 5% over regular glass. The system includes two, 500l twin coil cylinders and is automatically regulated by an Oventrop Regtronic, wall mounted control package with pre-installed switching schemes. By the end of the season Florence Park will have reduced its carbon emissions by over three tonnes, that’s the equivalent to the work of over 250,000 trees. enquiry number 905 IBD’s renewable heating solution is perfect for Rosemary Cottage IBD designed and installed a heating and hot water system based on renewables, using a Daikin Altherma High Temperature Heat Pump System in an idyllic cottage to replace the inefficient electric panel heating system in the Grade 2 listed cottage. Having investigated a variety options a Daikin Altherma High Temperature (HT) Heat Pump and Hot Water system. The company's prompt response and its wide experience in the design and installation of domestic and commercial heating and air conditioning systems using renewables were instrumental in our selection of IBD for the project. enquiry number 904 Durapipe HTA pipework has been installed within a Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic at Upton Hospital, Slough. The couple heat 14 rooms to a constant, comfortable temperature and a 220 litre water cylinder twice a day for less than it cost to previously run three storage heaters and a small immersion tank. “We have monitored power consumption over the past 24 months and we find it simply incredible that the energy needed to run the new system is comparable to, if not less, than the energy we used for the old one,” said Mike Ballinger. For further details Information on the Ecodan range is available at www.heating.mitsubishielectric.co.uk. enquiry number 901 Still reaping the benefits of renewable heating enquiry number 900 JG Speedfit has recently been appointed as the exclusive supplier of the Underfloor Heating system installed at the new-build Oddington Hanse Haus.
