NEWPRODUCTS The Cyclone Plus is a new stand-alone accessory for installers who want to offer the benefits of Alpha’s magnetic cyclone, previously only available with the PremierPack Plus wall-mounting jig. The boiler-mounted cyclone filter uses both centrifugal and magnetic force to remove debris from the heating system and adds an additional year to the standard guarantee when fitted to any Alpha boiler. Cyclone Plus fits directly to the boiler connections and is, therefore, easy to install and is said to sit ‘neatly and discreetly’ under the boiler. John Binney from Alpha said: “Filters have become an increasingly significant part of a healthy domestic heating system over the last few years and the Alpha cyclone device has always been a popular feature of our PremierPack Plus. We recognised that by offering this as a separate product we are increasing the flexibility of how installers can sell the benefits to their customers. The Cyclone Plus is a perfect addition to our range, offering homeowners more choice, improved efficiency, and an extended guarantee.” enquiry number 111 Two new push buttons have been launched by Siamp UK to ease bathroom mobility for consumers. Siamp has introduced these buttons to fit with its current range of Optima 49 and Optima 50 flushing valves - the buttons are said to be unique in the market as they are designed to fit existing installations as well as new systems. The buttons have a raised surface area to make flushing easier for consumers who are visually impaired or have limited mobility. They were developed after Siamp UK carried out research in the industry and discovered a need for bathroom adaptions that were more stylish than traditional product options. Ian Lorne, technical director at Siamp, said: "The versatility of the Optima 49 and 50 is what sets them apart from other products in the market. Rather than replacing a complete WC - which is costly and stressful - many people could benefit hugely from just one small modification, so it's important to give them that option.” New electrical solutions from Kermi For conventional use, electrical solutions are suitable as auxiliary heating for use between seasons, without starting up the central heating. They offer the solution for temporary, on-demand enquiry number heating, in holiday homes or seldom used areas. 112 Kermi offers two control variants - Standard and Comfort. In the Standard version, (left image) the control unit is either attached to the heating element itself or executed as an external remote controller (wall version), which can be positioned at a convenient control height. The Comfort version (right image) employs a remote control unit with LCD display. It enables day-specific room temperature control at heating and temperature-lowering level, as well as day-specific towel heating function, which is independent of room temperature. Warmup’s latest digital thermostats Warmup, UK manufacturer and supplier of underfloor heating (UFH) (electric, hydronic and hybrid - mix of electric and hydronic), has launched ‘tempo’ - its latest innovation in digital programmable thermostats. tempo allows installers to specify and install the right thermostat for customers that want to control their underfloor heating to suit their individual requirements, helping them to avoid wasting energy, while seeing savings in their utility bills. tempo is programmable in just a few easy steps and offers three operational modes: manual - the user can change the temperature at any time by simply turning the dial; automatic - once the settings are programmed, the end user can relax and enjoy the warmth; and frost protection - the thermostat maintains the temperature above 5°C at all times. Installers are able to guarantee to their customers a precise and accurate heating temperature control thanks to its Proportional Adaptive Function, which learns the time it takes to warm a room and activates the heating at the right moment so that it is up to temperature when required. Siamp Optima 50 raised button enquiry number 113 enquiry number 114 Polypipe Plumbing & Heating has added a new Zonal Regulation Unit (ZRU) to its product range. The new ZRU (pictured) allows single rooms and extensions up to 30m2 to be connected to an existing heating system in an even easier way, helping installers to easily accommodate renovation work. The unit has two flow and two return ports for underfloor heating (UFH) circuits and minimises the number of connectors that would otherwise be required, saving installers both time and money. Polypipe’s ZRU controls water flow and temperature to suit the type of UFH installed. It ensures the heating system is not reliant on the pump pressure from the existing heating system. Water is thermostatically blended by the unit to provide a safe flow of temperature-controlled water around the UFH systems. Polypipe Plumbing & Heating has also extended its range of underfloor-specific pipes by introducing an Ultra-Flexible Polybutylene Underfloor Heating pipe and a Formable MCP pipe to its range. The new Polypipe Ultra-Flexible Underfloor Heating pipe has been introduced to give plumbers and heating engineers an installation advantage. Available in varying diameters including 12mm, 15mm and 18mm, coils are available in existing lengths. Introduced following feedback from customers, the ultra-flexible pipe is only for use in UFH applications, and provides a solution specific pipe where this is preferred.
