NEWPRODUCTS New range of high efficiency radiators launched With, what is described as, an innovative layout of the ventilation unit and heat exchanger, the Aquarea Air’s very slim design is said to make it a ‘stylish and elegant alternative’ to traditional radiators. Panasonic’s Aquarea Air fan, is tangential with asymmetric blades and with a large surface area heat exchanger, it enables high airflows to be achieved with both low pressure loss and low levels of noise. Unlike traditional cast radiators, the Aquarea Air requires a lower temperature on the incoming water circuit at just 35°C and with exceptional ventilation efficiency; the motor uses considerably less energy making it 32% more efficient than standard radiators. Available in three sizes, the Aquarea Air is easy to install and a benefit with installation is that no overflow valve is needed, as a three way valve comes as standard. The radiator has three operating functions, heating mode using the radiant effect, heating with radiant effect plus fan and cooling only with the fan. The Aquarea Air range is said to be a ‘versatile’ climate control system and with its high levels of efficiency, it’s the ‘perfect solution’ to partner with an Aquarea air source heat pump. Seeing double with new CombiMag Kamco has introduced the CombiMag Dual, a combination of the CombiMag magnetic filter and the CombiHeat power flushing heater, in a compact twin cylinder unit. The CombiMag cleans heating system water during a power flush, so that debris is not re-circulated through the boiler. It reduces the amount of time and water required to power flush and protects the boiler from large amounts of corrosion debris. During the cleaning process, regulations require that a flushing chemical be used. Most chemicals are more effective when heated, and Kamco has incorporated an electric heater unit alongside the magnetic filter to ensure that systems can be heated even if the boiler is non-functional. The heating element is rated at 3kW, and this can raise the water temperature by as much as 40o when concentrated on specific problem areas of the heating system. The CombiMag component of the Dual has a 400mm long, 11,000 gauss rare earth magnet with a large surface area, designed to snatch magnetic iron oxides from the re-circulating water as soon as the power flushing pump is switched on. It can extract more than 3.5 kg of magnetic sludge before requiring cleaning. enquiry number 107 Geocel offering that little bit ‘eXtra’ Geocel is launching two new theWORKS products to complete the range: theWORKS XXX is an eXtra grab, eXtra strong, eXtra fast version of the familiar cartridge sealant/adhesive, and theWORKS SPRAY is a handy aerosol spray that removes, cleans, degreases and helps finish all sorts of common building tasks. theWORKS XXX is described as the ‘ultimate’ in fast grab super strength adhesive power - said to be 50% faster than traditional grab adhesives. theWORKS XXX is solvent-free, non-hazardous and odourless, so it is suitable to use in confined spaces. theWORKS SPRAY will remove all sorts of debris from most surfaces, such as uncured sealants and adhesives, grease, oil, chewing gum, tar and more. This makes it suitable for prepping substrates before using theWORKS, or for cleaning tools and equipment. theWORKS SPRAY is not aggressive to substrates and leaves no residue. Making gully installation a doddle Multikwik has developed a range of compact and adaptable trapped shower gullies for vinyl sheeting floors that are said to be quick and easy to fit, really versatile, with high performance. The range offers various options to meet installation needs, with horizontal and vertical outlets, 50mm or 75mm seal depth, the choice of an ABS lid or a stainless steel cover, as well as 50mm to 40mm size adaptors and different height options for the Straight Through Shower Gully. Vinyl sheeting floors - often found in care homes, hospitals, leisure facilities, apartment blocks or hotels - can make the fitting of a shower gully tricky and time consuming. But the new Multikwik shower gullies, available with 50mm or 75mm seal depth, are adaptable with a range of versatile outlets. The Straight Through Floor Gully with its original 50mm outlet can be cut down to fit straight onto a 110mm soil stack, minimising the need for raised floors. Both the Straight Through Floor Gully and the Horizontal Shower Gully are adaptable with the 50mm to 40mm reducer. Pre-drilled holes and pre-assembled fitting all point towards quick and hassle-free installation. Gas-fired boiler range extended Worcester, Bosch Group, has added a new generation of boilers to its Greenstar range: the Greenstar Si Compact, additions to the i System and Ri Regular ranges, and the new Greenstar i Junior. The Greenstar Si Compact brings Worcester’s WB7 heat exchanger, Heatronic 4i digital display and new compact hydraulic group to the mid-range combi boiler, enabling a series of premium features for apartments and small to medium sized one bathroom properties, at no extra cost to the customer. The new Greenstar i System boiler additions also benefit from the WB7 heat exchanger - an industry-exclusive friction stir-welded heat cell. The new Greenstar i Junior meanwhile, offers vastly improved hot water control, thanks to the addition of a hot water temperature controller, which allows the end-user to benefit from increased functionality. enquiry number 109 18 AUGUST 2013 HEATING & PLUMBING MONTHLY enquiry number 108 enquiry number 106 enquiry number 110
