NEWPRODUCTS Easy to install kit launched by Rinnai Rinnai has developed a new rack system which is designed to make installation of its Heavy Duty Condensing range of Infinity continuous flow water heaters even simpler, without any excessive re-jigging of pipe work and eliminating flue core hole issues. The new value option is a wall-mounted unit designed to accommodate Rinnai’s latest product innovation - the Infinity Plus Cascade. Infinity Plus Cascade is a custom made water heating solution that combines multiple units of the company’s energy saving 1500 and/or 1200 condensing units together with Rinnai’s newly developed common header flue system technology. It is available with its own made-to-measure freestanding rack, however, the new wall-mounted value version has been developed as a cost effective value alternative to complement the existing freestanding version. A new fan coil unit from Ability Projects is thought to be the slimmest on the UK market. Designated Evolution EVO155, the new unit is just 155mm deep and is, therefore, ideal for installation in residential and light commercial premises. Available in both two-pipe and four-pipe formats, EVO155 comes in eight sizes and offers cooling capacities up to 5.2kW and heating capacities up to 8.0kW under normal selection conditions. All EVO155 units incorporate slimline single inlet, forward curved, centrifugal EC fans and motor sets with specific fan powers generally around 0.2W/(l/s). They incorporate a number of Ability’s Matrix features, including variable speeds fans, unoccupied room set back facilities, multi-room operation options and standby power saving. They can also feature the latest Matrix three dirty filter alarm, which advises users of the need for filter cleaning or replacement, if necessary. Furthermore, a new filter design allows only the filter pad (rather than pad and frame) to be replaced. Draper catalogue is full of new tools Draper Tools has launched the 2013/14 edition of its main tools catalogue, providing a comprehensive guide to the thousands of products available from the company. Available to all Draper stockists, the full colour 796 page publication features over 9,000 products and is its biggest yet. There are hundreds of new lines in all categories including new ranges of Draper hand held power tools and adhesives and compounds. Draper Tools has produced a DVD containing digital images and specifications/descriptions of all items appearing in the catalogue. This information is also available on the website. The catalogue is also now available from the App Store, complete with live links and category navigation. enquiry number 107 The latest innovation from Aereco is the mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) system, the DXR. It is said to be the first ever fully DC domestic MVHR system both on supply and exhaust to be developed. According to Aereco, its DXR system can achieve 92% energy savings compared with a mechanical exhaust ventilation (MEV) system at constant airflow, while providing the same indoor air quality. Aereco DXR is engineered to automatically adjust ventilation according to the specific needs of each room when other products in the market propose constant or globally controlled airflows. It combines the benefits of both airflow modulation and heat recovery. Modulation enables a significant reduction of the average airflows while providing excellent air quality. Heat losses are halved in comparison with a constant airflow ventilation system. The heat exchanger operates with a yield of around 85% recovery, thereby achieving 92% energy savings compared with a MEV system. Additionally, Aereco DXR enhances primary energy consumption by reducing fan power. New scale inhibitor blitzes limescale Sentinel has launched its new electrolytic scale inhibitor – ScalePro® - to take on and defeat limescale build-up. ScalePro® incorporates specially developed circuitry that monitors the condition and the performance of the scale controlling zinc electrode. An LED flashes green visibly every 32 seconds if the device is working correctly and flashes red if the electrode is fouled or exhausted. Designed to offer scale inhibition for homes and small commercial properties, the unit is a non-polluting, electrolytic physical water conditioning device that helps protect a pipe system or appliance from the formation of harmful limescale encrustation. ScalePro® helps to maintain heater efficiency and conserve energy and is installed in the rising main of the incoming mains water supply, but after the meter and any primary filter units so that the whole property is protected.
