Smith’s adds heat to tapas bar
Diners at one of the newest eateries in Halifax – the Las Cuevas restaurant and tapas bar – can now enjoy the best of Spanish cuisine and entertainment in complete comfort after heating at the six-month old restaurant was boosted by the installation of equipment from Smith’s Environmental Products. The restaurant had opened its doors to the public early in 2009 using a conventional wet heating system but the owners soon found that the radiators alone were inadequate for the size of the dining area.
“It’s quite a large open space and when we were called in, we quickly decided that the greater efficiency offered by fan convectors would enable us to heat the area up faster than the radiators alone could do,” said Wayne Slattery from Brian Slattery Plumbers, who installed the Smith’s product. “In the end, the addition of the Smith’s Caspian unit has almost doubled the heat output across the room.”
The Smith’s Caspian is a fan convector that can be combined to provide versatile heating solutions for all types of commercial premises.
As in this case, it can be fitted to existing heating systems, as well as used in conjunction with any natural convectors.
Using simple technology that can put heat where required, when required, fan convectors are the quickest and most cost effective way of bringing a cold room up to temperature.
Recent research by BSRIA has proven fan convectors to be 24% more energy efficient than standard radiators – a statistic which rises to 31% when running from renewable technologies, such as heat pumps. *
All Smith’s products are available nationally from builders’ merchants, plumbers’ merchants, heating equipment distributors and kitchen equipment distributors and all products and accessories are covered by a free five-year parts and labour guarantee.
