Gledhill boosts skills with new training academy
Gledhill Building Products has launched a new training academy at its Blackpool head office. The Gledhill academy is managed by Mick Moore, who has worked for the company for over 47 years, and is training staff from the 16 manufacturing sites across the country to become skilled copper cylinder fabricators.
Mick Moore, training academy manager, said: “I am delighted to be involved in this training academy and to pass on my skills to younger members of the team. I used to be involved in training for the company many years ago and I really enjoyed it, so it’s great to be managing this new facility.
“Our students will learn how to make our wide range of copper cylinders from scratch and will be taught how to braise, weld and shape the units. We are currently training two members of staff at a time and we allow them to work at their own pace until we are happy with the standard of work that they are producing.”
