Keston integrates with renewables for luxury home
Keston has designed a multi-boiler rig, integrated with Airgen, its air source heat pump (ASHP), for an eight-bedroom property in Highlands Road - a luxury Meadowcroft Properties development in Reigate, Surrey.Consisting of two C40 boilers, a qSpa 300 cylinder and an Airgen, the Keston rig delivers heating for hot water and the building’s complex underfloor heating system.
The 7,000 sq ft (650 sq m) Highlands Road development, boasts energy efficiency as a key factor in the building’s design. Including concrete floors, up to and including the second floor, the property has a high thermal mass.
This, combined with weather compensation, installed as standard on all Keston boilers, makes for an energy efficient building, which means lower fuel bills and CO2 emissions.
The boilers work in conjunction with an Airgen, which is located on the outside of the property, further reducing gas consumption. ASHPs work best at higher temperatures, when the efficiency drops, the C40s take over, providing a more efficient solution for colder weather.
The boilers also deliver increased rapid water heating so have been selected to perform this function.
