Don’t get left out in the rain
Nu-Heat’s umbrella scheme provides a simple route for installers committed to a business future in renewables to achieve Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) approved status.Grant funding for renewable products including heat pumps and solar thermal is only available for installers and products that have achieved MCS status. As the grant can be as much as 50% of the cost of the product and labour, installers with MCS status have a clear advantage when tendering for this type of work.
The proposed Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) that provides financial support to those wanting to switch to renewable heating sources will also require products and installers to be MCS approved.
However, the amount of time and paperwork needed to join the existing scheme can be daunting and many qualified installers just don’t have the time or give up halfway through the application.
Nu-Heat has worked with accreditation body NICEIC to create a scheme open to Nu-Heat registered installers that takes responsibility for providing the required technical and installation information, removing much of the effort and cost from installers.
Applicants must have the required qualifications and as long as all conditions are met, MCS approval can be achieved in around two weeks.
