As the summer budget approaches the Energy and Utilities Alliance (EUA) is calling on the Chancellor to commit to the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
Isaac Occhipinti, external affairs manager at EUA, said: “First on the agenda for George Osborne is the need to deliver a long term commitment to the RHI, which is currently scheduled to end in 2016. The RHI was designed to encourage growth in the use of more efficient low carbon heating which is desperately if we are to help improve the energy efficiency of UK homes.
“The Conservative manifesto was sadly lacking in any real substance on energy so a commitment on RHI would signal an intention to help support homeowners, while tackling carbon emissions to achieve the legally binding targets.”
