The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) has announced plans to embark upon a focused membership drive and educational campaign with the aim of highlighting the breadth of work carried out by the Institute, which is an educational charity dedicated to promoting individual professionalism and best practice, and encouraging more heating and plumbing installers to join in 2016.

Central to the campaign, the CIPHE is placing a strong emphasis on explaining exactly what membership means by outlining the benefits of affiliation. Reasons to sign up to the Institute include the opportunity for heating and plumbing engineers to become part of a professional network of over 7,500 like-minded professionals who, as a collective, are passionate about enhancing the reputation of the trade, combatting rogue installation practices and delivering customer service excellence.

As well as the chance to network and share experiences with colleagues, membership of the CIPHE also means having access to the very best training and technical support in the industry through the e-learning academy, discounted training from over 170 leading Industrial Associate supporters and the latest CPD packages.

Wider benefits include receiving sales leads from the ‘Find a Professional’ and ‘Find a Plumbing and Heating Professional’ section of the CIPHE’s website, where homeowners are actively encouraged to visit to find reputable tradesmen they can trust. Members can also take advantage of competitive insurance offers, healthcare and a variety of other exclusive membership services.

Chief executive officer of the CIPHE, Kevin Wellman, said: “Our aim is to increase the number of installers who are registered with the CIPHE. The good news is that, by making a personal commitment to join the Chartered Body for their industry and agreeing to adhere to the Institute’s Code of Professional Standards, heating and plumbing professionals can quickly gain a competitive advantage by making membership part of their marketing drive.

“Thanks to the CPD, technical and training support we provide together with assistance from our Industrial Associate supporters, which include manufacturers, merchants, technical colleges and associated services, our members are perfectly positioned to promote their professional credentials as being amongst the best in the industry.

“They can also feel confident that behind them is an organisation dedicated to promoting the excellent work they do on a daily basis – from lobbying and advising the government on industry issues, apprenticeships and technical matters to protecting the elderly and vulnerable, as well as encouraging homeowners to choose CIPHE registered installers every time.”
