Curzon calls for more carbon monoxide tests
Heating parts specialist, Curzon, is calling for gas installers to carry out a carbon monoxide (CO) test on every property they enter as standard practice in a bid to reduce the incidence of CO poisoning.
The company further warns that any employer letting one of their installers work in a property without carrying out such a test could be endangering the health of their staff.
“CO kills and not enough is being done to protect heating installers or homeowners from the devastating effects of CO poisoning,” said Debbie-Sue Price, marketing manager for Curzon.
“We have decided to act and will be rolling out a programme of national roadshows to highlight the importance of CO testing. Our CO roadshows are designed to highlight the effects of carbon monoxide on the human body, let people know what to look for when visiting a property, present on the legislation changes to standards including BS7967 & CPAL and provide an overview of what to look for when selecting a CO alarm. The CO roadshows are in partnership with Honeywell Analytics and Anton and as a further incentive to attend, we are also providing special offers on CO alarms and flue gas analysers from both suppliers.”
As part of its CO initiative, Curzon is also encouraging installers to carry a number of CO alarms in their van and offer them to every customer they visit.
